AOL Desktop Gold is optimized for broadband connections. If you access AOL using a dial-up connection, you'll want to use AOL Dialer and the AOL Shield browser.

1. Launch AOL Desktop Gold.
2. Sign in with your username and password.
3. In the top menu bar, click Help | About AOL
4. If you see 'Revision 11.x.xxx' or higher, you're using the most updated version of AOL Desktop Gold and will continue to get updates automatically.
