To run McAfee VirusScan on your computer, you will have to uninstall any other antivirus program that you may have installed on your computer.
To uninstall any antivirus program:
1. Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
Note: For Windows XP, click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs or Add or Remove Programs icon.
3. Click the existing antivirus program you wish to uninstall, then click the Change/Remove or Remove button.
Note: For Windows 98/Me, click the existing antivirus program you wish to uninstall, then click the Add/Remove... button.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove the antivirus program, and then restart the computer.
Notes:
- If prompted to remove the shared files during the uninstall process, click Yes to All.
- Some common antivirus software programs are McAfee, Norton, C-Cillin, Panda, AVG and Avast.
WARNING: Before uninstalling LiveReg or LiveUpdate, ensure that no other Norton products are installed on the computer.
